The benefits of ubiquitous broadband access across South Carolina are numerous, and encouraging all South Carolinians to embrace the potential of the Internet is a very important task. We’re working to ensure that these things are accomplished so that South Carolina and its citizens remain competitive in today’s digital world. 

As a non-profit organization, Connect South Carolina’s mission is to close the digital divide by working with the Office of the Governor and South Carolina’s broadband providers to ensure that all communities - rural and urban - have access to the Internet’s unlimited potential through a high-speed connection.  In the coming months, Connect South Carolina will be working to (1) map broadband service availability across the state, (2) understand broadband adoption rates in each South Carolina county, and (3) determine what barriers exist (community-by-community) that inhibit broadband usage. The maps and data that result from our work will be available on this site, and will be used to positively impact South Carolina’s broadband landscape for future generations.  Stay tuned and check back often – your involvement is important to our success!
