Connect South Carolina Joins Governor to Highlight Work of The Foundation

By Lyndsey Kleven

The Original Six Foundation was founded by Governor Nikki R. Haley to unite private support to solve public challenges. The Foundation's mission is to empower communities to reach their potential through facilitating and collaborating in the areas of education, quality of life, community service, and workforce readiness. Connect South Carolina helped support the Foundation's mission by participating in the individual community events around the state, as well as providing data on broadband adoption in South Carolina for the Original Six Foundation's most recent Board meeting.

An event held on August 18 was a celebration to highlight the work of The Foundation. Event attendance included many of the Original Six Foundation Board members and state leaders. Governor Haley recognized several outstanding volunteers and thanked everyone who participated in the eight community days across the state over the past several years. These well attended daylong events offered collective resources from the private sector, civic leaders, and health clinics designed to meet the specific needs to these communities without the use of public funding.
